Collecting postcards

Many may think the idea of collecting postcards is silly. Though one only needs to find a truly beautiful one to begin getting hooked on postcard collecting.

Personally we collect them for the beauty of them. Back in the early 1900's they made some of the most beautiful postcards you will ever find. However, this does not mean that we do not take the time to truly appreciate them for what they really are, which is, a piece of our history.

Recently we added several 'lots' of postcards to our Etsy Shop that would be perfect for someone wanting a small collection to frame. All of the lots are 'good luck' pieces.

There are just enough in each lot that you could get a little creative and make your very own *piece of history* collection.

Unique Postcard Find

Little Lamb Antiques has acquired a large amount of postcards from the early 1900's. Some are unused, however many have personal letters written on them. Be sure to continue to check our Etsy Shop to see all the new ones, as we will be adding new ones everyday.

One particular that is very touching is a birthday card for a two-year-old child who was a member of a Cradle Class. After doing research, it came to our attention that members of a Cradle Class are orphaned children who the church takes under their wing to care for.

So this card was given to a two-year-old little child whose providers were members of the church.
You can see the card in our Etsy Shop along with numerous other cards that would be perfect for an antique collection.
